In February 2021, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors adopted an enhanced eviction moratorium that limit severely limits owners’ ability to remove a tenant from a unit barring special circumstances.
Under the new law, rental housing owners and operators can only recover the unit for health and safety reasons or for the owner to move-in.
