Included Sessions:

Part 1: Eviction Rules in the City of Los Angeles - June 24, 2026

Between the City of Los Angeles’ Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) and its Just Cause for Eviction Ordinance (JCO), nearly all residential rental units in the city are subject to local “just cause” eviction protections. While the two laws share many similarities, they also differ in important ways.

This webinar provides an overview of the eviction provisions under both the RSO and the JCO, with an emphasis on understanding which ordinance applies, allowed eviction grounds, procedural requirements, filing obligations, and relocation assistance rules. The session will also review relevant CAA forms designed for use within the City of Los Angeles. This course is designed to provide a clear, structured understanding of how these two ordinances operate and how to navigate their differences with greater confidence.

Please note, this webinar is scheduled to last 1.5 hours/90 minutes.

Topics include:
  •     Determining whether a unit is governed by the RSO or the JCO
  •     City administrative fee for covered units
  •     At-fault and no-fault eviction grounds under both ordinances
  •     Key procedural requirements, including declarations of intent, Housing Department filings, and special notice obligations
  •     Relocation assistance requirements for no-fault evictions
Part 2: Rent Control in the City of Los Angeles – The Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) - July 22. 2026

The City of Los Angeles’ Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) regulates rent increases, registration obligations, and related requirements for many rental units in the city. This webinar examines the RSO’s rent cap and registration provisions, focusing on applicability and exemptions, calculation of annual increases, rent increases that require pre-approval from the city, and required notices. The session will also review relevant CAA forms designed for use with RSO-covered units. This course is intended to provide a practical understanding of how the RSO’s rent control provisions function and how to apply them in day-to-day operations.

Topics include:
  •     Changes to the RSO for 2026
  •     The annual allowable rent increase
  •     Registration and notification requirements
  •     Notice requirements for rent increases
  •     Special rules for additional increases, such as for the addition of household members or capital improvements
  •     Requirement to pay interest on security deposits
